What are powerchains? What do they look like? What are they for? What are they made of? Does everyone get them?

I'm not going to try and answer every use of powerchains, but in my case they were for bringing my teeth together and therefore filling in the gaps that I had. They appear to be made out of the same material as regular ligs.
Here's a pic of my lavender chains I had a couple adjustments ago:
You can see how they connect between each bracket, unlike regular ligs that just hold the wire to the bracket.

when I first heard of power chains, I originally thought they were made out of metal and caused a ton of force on the teeth. LOL Talk about being relieved after learning the truth
