Hi
while I'm on I have another question. I have a deep overbite/overjet. My ortho has not mentioned anything about headgear, do they usually let you know with the initial consult or do they tell you about it later? I've heard that people with similar problems to me have fixed them with braces, elastics and extractions alone.
I'm just interested how people with deep overbites and overjets got theirs fixed.
Most likely your ortho would want to look at your moulds and xrays to determine the path of treatment. I would ask during your final consultation if the ortho does not bring it up. He/she will go over all the options ( elastics, powerchains, springs etc) that will get you to the final results that are desired to complete treatment.
