Ditto, to all the replies. I am always on the lookout now :D. I make a point to talk to adults in braces. It is fun comparing "notes". It is weird that people I used to think had "nice" teeth have issues too.

I'm still getting pre-braces treatments (gum grafting, tooth capping etc) so don't have them yet but...yup...I've become hyper vigilant about which adults I see in everyday life has braces and who NEEDS braces. I try not to stare and I'd never tell anyone they needed braces.

LOL, glad it isn't just me then. I am thinking that to myself all the time. Weird though. Never really paid much attention to people with braces before.

lol, glad I am not different than the people here

Since I have braces the first thing I notice now about a person is how are their teeth. I now realize that a lots of people have crooked teeth ... nothing major, but it seems I see all the little imperfections.

If somebody have braces I notice it right away now

I'm the same, although due to being self-conscious about my own teeth I always noticed other peoples' teeth, especially if they were nice  but now I look at peoples' teeth and diagnose them

As yet I haven't spotted any other adults in braces.

I have always had a terrible habit of noticing a persons' mouth before I notice anything else. And from reading all the informative stuff that people post on this website, it has magnified a habit that I have not always been to happy about in the first place. I can honestly say, that since I started on the path of orthodontic treatment, that atleast 3 people that I work with are either considering or have started orthodontic treatment; and all I have referred to this website for the "behind the scenes" information that you may not be getting at the orthodontist office.

In a nutshell------

DITTO TO ALL THE RESPONSES!!

I actually ran into an old high school classmates mother the other day who was wearing braces. We saw each other and said hi and first thing I noticed was she had braces (she's in her late 40's) and I was like omg you got braces too! We sort of stood there talking about them for a few minutes - I didn't even have time to ask about her daughter whom I went to school with bc I was more curious about her braces!

It makes me feel good I'm not the only one to notice.
We went to Chuckie Cheese's this past weekend. I saw several adults there that I thought would benefit from orthodontics. Adults in West Virginia that have braces are a bit uncommon. I know only four, including myself who have them or just completed treatment. I keep on hoping when we go to the orthodontist that I'll have a chance to talk to other adults and compare notes. I'm not sure if that's weird or not.

When we went to DisneyWorld I did see several adults with them. Never got around to speaking to them. Seemed too odd to talk to a stranger and ask how far along their treatment was.
