I just had my first 10-week adjustment yesterday. Ow!! They only adjusted the bottoms and left the top alone. Is this a common thing? My top teeth do look very good already, but I thought at every adjustment appointment, especially the first one, that both top and bottom would be adjusted. My 2-year-old had been rambunctious in the office the entire time I was there and I felt the need to rush on out with him, so I didn't get to ask why this was.

In the early stages with the heat activated archwire a lot can happen while the ortho does nothing. At my first adjustment they fitted the bottom brackets and did nothing to the tops. At my second adjustment (16 weeks in) they changed the archwire on top.

While we all want a lot to happen every adjustment, there are times our teeth don't stay on the same schedule as our scheduled adjustments. (Maybe if I say that enough, I'll get where it doesn't bother me.)
