bad news...

#1 Post by minnie2 »

Hi everyone!!!

Until now, I had a perfect history with my braces... sin pain and with a pleasure, really! I had supposed to have braces for 9 months upper only. It was perfect. One month before the miracle day with my perfect smile... I received a new sentence... and now it's not a pleasure!

I need braces "lower" for 18 months.... and, now, i have a perfect smile but i need braces for occlusion! It's really hard! impossible to appeal against this decision.

And... my ortho doesn't want to put ceramic braces lower!!!! ( i have ceramic upper) . There is a problem with enamel of the teeth ! Is someone have ceramic lower and upper! i would like to have your opinion.

Well, I fell... i don't know... sad, angry, ... it's not a good day!
I think, I need a hug ....i feel sad!

I have to call to have my appointment .. other "B day" . It's not terrific because i had a good adventure with my first b day.... but when we are close to the finish line, it's hard to return to the departure line.
But, it's like this...

That is very strange!
Did it come as a supprise to your ortho that you might need lowers as well??? I mean, he/she did not think about that in the beginning on your treatment. Maybe your ortho has lack of patients. Do you have to pay extra? I would ask some other dentist about their opinion.

Oh Minnie! I am so sorry----what a disappointment! Did he have any explanation as to why he/she didn't suggest this sooner or if there is now a malocclusion, why it wasn't anticipated as a possibility initially?

18 months seems like a long time to adjust for an oversight made by a professional. If you are not satisfied with the answer, maybe it wouldn't hurt to get a 2nd opinion.

Good Luck, Minnie!

I had 2 others consultations but with the same result...i need braces lower for 18 months even though i have a perfect smile.
At first, it was a possibility because it was a treatment of compromise. The result of my treatment was better than predictable so... now,we need to adjust my occlusion.

I will survive... with a powerchain of hugsssssssss!!!

P.s: tomorrow, i have an appointment with my ortho....more news, tomorrow!
