asking for braces to be removed

#1 Post by caringiscreepy »

I got my braces when I was 18 and my best friend got them at the same time so being still kind of young and having my friend get them with me it was sort of cool.
However, that was 2 and a bit years ago and my friend has since had hers off while i've still got mine.

I was wondering if I could just ask the ortho to remove them cos i'm fed up of them?

I've moved over 40 miles away from my ortho so its expensive for me to keep travelling back, not to mention awkward because they only work on days I'm at uni.

My treatment is almost finished, i keep getting told they'll be removed next time I go and they never do.

They're really denting my confidence to the point where i keep my mouth closed because i'm self concious and i really have no interest in looking after them because i just want them gone.

is it reasonable to ask if i can just have them off NOW?
