underbite

Just wondering if anyone has encountered something similar. My son has been in braces 8 months, he had powerchains put on last month to correct the gap caused by the expander he was wearing. Now all of sudden he had developed an underbite and having trouble pronouncing words. I am shocked that this has happened and am hoping it can be repaired, getting appt tomorrow. Has anyone had an underbite caused by their braces???

I have not had this happen, but I do know with braces things sometimes get worse before they get better. I'd call the ortho just to make sure it is going as planned. Good Luck!

as ilovemacs stated... the beginning process does get worse before things get better... I would probably contact the ortho on Monday and make sure that things are going planned. My cousin sorta had the same issue where her teeth got worse before they got better and shes getting her braces off in December.... Why? My teeth were in much better shape then hers and shes had her braces on less time then me? I Should get mine off before her!
