Elastics That Have Goofy Names.... Ugh!

#1 Post by iceomatic »

I've been happily braced since 10/24/05. I have worn elastics for some time now. I'm drawing a blank on exactly how long!

Does everyone else in elastics have to ask for them by SPORT? I went from Basketball elastics to Football. Why can't they have a number or color for the different strengths?? :D I always joke and ask if the toughest one is Speech and Debate!

I think orthodontic supplies manufacturers need to realize that not all patients are in middle school.

I guess it is easier to remember thansome number series. I think I had Pandas or something when I was a kid :)

I found it cute :)

The brand my ortho uses don't have names. You can tell from the colour of the bag what size and strength they are.

I wouldn't mind using elastics with silly names though :D

Mine are GACs. I started off with Japan and went smaller and stronger to Taiwan. Not sure what that means. :o

 Mine are named after animals. I currently wear 1 ea. of Rhino (1/4") and Chimpmunk (1/8") on each side. I however would like to know what the specific strenghts of each elastic means.

I only had Bill, Chuck and Gary. At one stage I was going to bed with four men simultaneously.

Animals would be so much better than sports! I'd feel much better asking for more tortoise elastics than basketball elastics!!

It's interesting how different offices have different brands with different names. I always get a giggle out of my sports elastics.....

Basketball is 1/4 inch x 4 oz
Football is 3/16 inch x 4 oz

Looks like rhino is the same as basketball?

Mmm: Mine are labeled "Orthodontic Elastics 3/16" Medium B". Double mmm: Some bags are 1/4". :? They're tiny and tricky to manipulate, either size. I think I'll call them Mighty Mouse and Minnie Mouse. :)

and also: geochelone elephantopus
lol..
anyway, I agree. Braces are defenetely not only for kids anymore!
acctually in a lot of countries only older teenagers/adults get them, because they have to save up for them. Like in Chile and Montenegro(Kroatia). So yeah, I guess I should move there:P

I have the same and I 100% agree, they are truly bummers. I had Pandas when I was getting my canines relocated.
