Cold sensitivity, ouch!

Been fully braced since 12/14… 1st week I had the typical soreness, then by the 2nd week it got better each day. Last week I noticed some extreme sensitivity in a canine next to an extraction site (extractions were done 11/10). I had a sip of an iced drink and WHOA, I had a sharp shooting pain that started in my gums and all the way up into my head. I could do nothing but wince as it lasted 5 seconds. That was REALLY painful. After it happened again I now drink my water and juices at room temp and drink more hot liquids. I notice too that when I breathe in cool or cold air through my mouth, I get the same pain, though not as severe.
I am thinking that this is due to the amount of movement this particular canine is making, the gums and nerve are extra sensitive and I also have a powerchain to help close the extraction gap, the ortho put in a ‘light’ one. Do I have cause for concern for this type of pain/cold sensitivity, or is this typical? Thanks for reading!
