New in Braces Help!

I thought I did allot of research before getting my braces on but I'm not so sure now. They had my upper Bi-Cupids removed before putting my braces on. I'm not sure if that was the right decision. I mean my teeth were crowded but I think there's to much space now. I have gaps between all of my front teeth and the gaps from the extraction site are still huge! Maybe I'm over reacting. Help!

Hi, matsugirl. I have a similar situation, crowding on top, upper bicuspids extracted. My spaces also have seemed large to me, and at first I really did wonder how on earth they would close up enough. They're about half closed now, and what is happening for me is that the back teeth are coming forward and the front teeth are going backward to close the spaces. This will also line up my molars so that they are in better chewing positions. And my ortho thinks that even with these huge gaps that were opened I may end up with a mild overbite. I don't see how that's possible, although I don't mind (I think a little overbite is cute).
Your ortho shouldn't mind you asking about this. Mine did computer modeling to study whether things would line up by doing the extractions, and he goes back to the model sometimes to check on whether things are going to work out as planned.
Thanks

Hi matsu!
I am wondering how long my gap will take to close too, but then again I have to trust my ortho to make things look right in the end.
I absolutely know that the gap looks and feels HUGE to ME - sorta like a pimple that you think everyone else notices because it is so obvious to you - but no one else really does until you mention it!
Best wishes, be patient, and keep smiling!
