Adults in braces - UK-based newspaper

Hi all,
My name is Emine and I'm a journalist for a national newspaper in the UK - Lynn kindly said I could post here. I'm doing a piece about adults in braces and how orthodontic treatment is becoming ever more popular, and I am looking for people (based in the UK) who would be prepared to have portraits taken of them. I would also do a short interview.
I'd be happy to give more information to anyone who is interested in taking part. You can email me at
emine1@hotmail.com or call me on 07709 483816.
Best wishes,
Emine

I'd probably be interested if it was a constructive article. Like Lisa says though, which newspaper?

I don't think it's the Sun. Given the the name of the journalist, it's quite likely to be the Guardian.

I was kinda hoping it was the Sun, because then I could have my head Photoshopped onto the body of some gorgeous toned 20 year old, and appear on page 3
I personally don't wish to "go public" but I'd be interested to hear if anybody else has got in touch with this person, and what the setup is.

Ha Ha - what Meryaten said was well funny.
I dont think anyone would like to see my ugly gob in the paper.

I think it could be fun - certainly one for the scrapbook album!
Will they do your hair before the photoshoot is what I'm wondering! My hair would rival Medusa's :p
Why is it a hotmail account instead of an official work account that we have to email? Nowadays you have to think about the legitimacy of people trying to contact you through the internet.

Nope sorry, not interested here but if it's legit i'd like to read the article.

I agree with steadfast, why is it a hotmail account and not a work account? If i am contacting people for a wrok related-issue, i use my work email as it is more official, i wouldn't want them to email me on a personal email as it is not very professional. It has crossed my mind if this person is after portrait photos of people in braces for another reason...forgive me if i am wrong but you can't be too careful on the internet and there is no evidence to say that this person is legit.

She is from the Guardian Newspaper, and I received an email from her with the domain "guardian.co.uk", so I do think she is legit.

Thanks for that Lynn but I still couldn't do it. I think it takes a certain type of person to do this sort of thing and it's not me.
I wish Emine good luck with her article

Thanks for clarifying that she is legit Lynne, i feel less uneasy now
Still don't think i could share my metal mouth with the rest of the UK though! I wish her luck in finding some brave Archwirer's!

I have had an email back from Emine and the email address was The Guardian newspaper. I have also found articles written by Emine on the net. Sounds legitimate to me.

You're going to go for it, aren't you Julie?
Being promised a place on DG's website after your teeth are done just isn't enough fame for you, evidently

Hi Lisa,
What you still doing up at this time of night? Shouldn't you be getting your beauty sleep???
Well, I did the BBC programme a few years back so this is a step up from that, and an addition to my hall of fame!!! I'll have a chat to DG and see what he thinks. He may want a celeb on his website!!!! At least I'm not waiting for the The Sun to ring me up and do a Page 3 spread , eh Lisa??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
