asymmetrical elastics

#1 Post by platinum »

I got, finally, class II elastics today.
I have to wear on my right side 24/7 and on my left side 12 hours per day. This is to correct my overjet and my midline.
Now I have had about 8 hours one elastic. No pain yet, but it feels that my lower incissors crowding.
Anybody else with class II elastics with different wearing times?

no i don't have a schedule like that I just have to wear them 24/7 and i have the box elastics to close a posterior open bite... i've been wearing them for about 3 1/2 weeks and it's gotten a lot better but my midline is off and my bite doesn't feel even on both sides

i guess they will have me bite down on some paper to figure out what the deal is

I had class II elastics to correct my midline and close up my bite. It felt like my bite was higher on the elastics side but once I stopped wearing the elastics my bite has closed up a good amount and feels even!

I don't have different wearing times. I have different configurations alltogether. On the right I have a 3-3-4 that my ortho called a "holding pattern" because right side of my mouth is finished. On the left I have a 6-3 that is to anchor my molars back so the front four will slide to the left and match up my middline. When that is finished I believe I will be done.
