Hi group, I thought I'd just take a minute to let you know how well Sensodyne has worked for me.
I have some significant gum recession, and have always treated those areas very gently when brushing my teeth. When I got my braces 3 weeks ago, my orthodontist gave me a Sonicare toothbrush. I like using it but every time I hit that sensitive spot I nearly shot through the roof. Knowing I couldn't avoid the area altogether, I bought some Sensodyne toothpaste. Within 2 weeks the sensitivity in those areas has lessened dramatically. Sometimes it still bothers me a bit, but nothing I can't deal with.
Also, I am rinsing nightly with a fluoride rinse, which I understand also helps with sensitivity.
Indeed, Sensodyne is my lifesaver! I started developing sensitive spots during ortho treatment so my dentist told me to use sensitive toothpaste with a fluoride rinse too. I also found that rinsing with tepid water also helped, so that my teeth wouldn't get thrown into shock.

Thank you for sharing this. I think with everything we are going through with having braces, the least we can do is not have painful brushing or teeth that hurt when they don't have to.
