joe, just think, you won't have to buy anymore wax! Floss and brushes, will be until you lose your last tooth, so you better start putting away some money for your lifetime supply of brushes and floss!

 You have made me smile!!

My total cost to my Orthodontist is $5,000 ... $1000 down and the rest as $200 per month. and that's not counting the time off from work, gasoline to his office, wax, floride rinse, etc....

I can't believe how we are thinking alike, because I thought, "hell, $1000 down and $200 a month could be a small car" ....

Our beautiful smile will go further in the romance department than any car or truck...

Buy that truck now and you'll be a guy, with a great smile in a truck ! !

My total cost is $5900 after the xray and picture costs.
I'm paying $210 a month. No ortho coverage so it's all out of
my pocket. Sooooo, I'm wondering, are your braces gold
linguals? Why so expensive?

I'm paying $26,000 HKD for everything (extractions, x-rays, free toothbrushes, etc), which would be about $3250 USD? It would've been even cheaper if I had chosen to go with metal brackets.

Suddenly I feel reaally lucky.

$3,500 AUD/
1,565.73 GBP/
2,100.97 EUR/
3,123.47 USD for my treatment (August 2006 to Feb 2008).

$1,600 AUD/
716.27 GBP/
959.99 EUR/
1,427.89 USD for Hawley retainers.

But, compared to other posters, I really haven't had much done.

I think anyone who doesn't have to have surgery should consider themselves lucky. I will end up paying between $20,000 and $50,000. Not including other dental work I need. It depends on how much medical insurance will pay (I have no dental insurance). BTW, we are barely making ends meet now ---not well off my any means.

my contracted rate through Aetna was $3,748, my insurance covered $1000 of it so i pay 2,748 ... $159 per month interest free

and my treatment time is 13 months

I don't know. I moved to Florida. That would add a lot of cost on top of what my parents paid for in Texas. I need to do the math I'm thinking about $1,500 in Texas? Insurance covered $1,500. Because of my move and I didn't go in December or January. Here my parents have insurance, but it doesn't cover braces. I am going to end up being the expensive one because of the move. Even though my teeth aren't as bad as my little brother's. It's only 4 teeth that really are crooked. Hopefully the move will not add time to the process

First time in braces from age 11-13 I think my parents paid $2000-2500ish.

2nd time--Cost around $1500 out of pocket, the rest was covered by insurance.
