Strange Little Wires....

Hi Everyone,
I have had my fixed braces on now for 12 weeks and I went to see my orth today and he did some serious adjusting and put some new little wires in along side the long stretchy rubber bands and brackets on the back teeth on both the top and bottom. So I have the arch wires on the top and bottom but as it gets to the last teeth there are 2 wires.... what are they for?
I hope im making sense.... lol
