UPDATE:

THEY ARE OFF!! I LOVE ITT! MY TEETH FEEL AND LOOK FANTASTIC! Just uploaded the pictures I will post them in the naked forum check it out here viewtopic.php?t=24924
------------------------------------------------------------
Time does fly! I am now starting to countdown my last 3 days.
I have ceramics on and my teeth are not as senstivie anymore, should I still pop an advil before I go in?
Also how often are your retainer checks?
And do I tell him which teeth I want shaped (I asked at my last adjustment if they shape them and the assistant said they do) or do they do everything themselves?

I'm so excited but at the same time sort of nervous.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WOOOO!!!!

Had my adjustment today and was really hoping to get them off although my ortho told me last time I got 1-2 more appointments left. He told me today, eventhough everything looks good, we can't just take them off because we need to have a special appointment for debanding, so he slapped a powerchain on me and a thicker wire and said come back in 2 weeks and we'll pop 'em off! YAYY!!!!!

This is my first (and last haha) powerchain and its nice to finally feel some tightness in the mouth, which I have been lacking in the past 2 months. He said we'll just make sure everything is nice and tight and it can come off. I have white/clear powerchain but I'm not worried about staning since I don't eat curry and drink mostly water and green tea, plus its only two weeks but feels like eternity away!

I picked up some crest whitestrips today and some sexy lipstick. I will also get my hair done next week, buy some new clothes and go tanning!

I am so ready, so march 14th is the magic number!

Anything else I can/should do before the debandment?

And what about on the day of debandment, I've been reading alot of you after getting the brackets pop off and cement filed off, go to brush your teeth, do you bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste? Should I bring my kit with me?

Share! :D

P.S. March 14th is going to be exactly a year since I got my braces on, which was march 15th, last year! So my ortho was exactly on the dot when he told me my ETT will be 12 months, on the day of my consultation. Impressive! :D

AGH! I am so jealous! I would love to be where you are at now- I am only a week in and am already fantasising about what it will be like when then come off, and all the things I'll do (like tanning etc) to look even more gorgeous! go all out and enjoy it- you deserve it!!!

I'm jealous too! Your teeth look amazing and so quickly done too! I have had mine on longer than you and my debanding day is still years (maybe) off yet.

I bet it will feel great to run your tongue over your teeth instead of your brace!

Congratulations!

Yay!! Congrats :)

About brushing your teeth, my ortho's office has a sink and supplies there --- which I usually use when I come in, even if I did brush before coming in.

My ortho said no powerchains, but I would be impressed with how he tends to close the gaps he has created without them... so we will see... but I will get PURPLE ones if I get stuck with them.

1 year! That is awesome!! Have you started planning your meal yet??

Lola, thank you!!! And yes I want to tan so my whitened teeth look even brighter! I know what you mean too, I also started planning my debanding when I had them on for maybe a week or so, it feels almost surreal.

choccyface, no no the mouth in my avator is NOT my teeth haha. I just put it up because it looks alot like what I have now (ceramics on top only) and no bottoms, in reality my bottom teeth r perfectly straight, unlike in the picture hehe. But my teeth do look amazing, I am so happy with the results. :D What is your ETT?

purpleteeth, my ortho also told me earlier in the treatment I wouldn't need powerchains, but to close up my slight overjet and any possible spaces (I had no visible spaces) he said he's putting them on as my last step. My ortho also has a sink, but I haven't seen anything on it, maybe they give you supplies when you need them. Just in case I will bring my dental kit (I haven't taken it anyway in the past 2 months!) I haven't planned my exact meal yet, but I am planning on going out with a few friends right after and eating some chewy, cripsy and messy food! :D

Was just wondering...do any of you who are debanded observed that after they remove the braces and polish your teeth, some of light staining got removed? My teeth look pretty white except on the very front 2 teeth, there is slight lines right under the brakets, and I was wondering if that will be polished off? If not I got crest strips ready but did any of you have a similar experience?

First off I would like to say congrats on getting a deband date... now here is the issue I'm having, Yup I'm already thinking a 1 hour whitening treatment, crest white strips, haven't thought of my first braces free meal, New photo for the family portrait photos, umm who knows what else...

As for questions I have I don't have any yet but I'm sure when I get closer to my deband date I will have questions galore... My deband date is April 2nd... I'm getting both upper and lower hawleys, the uppers are giong to be glitter red and lowers are glitter blue!

Check out my braces story here: viewtopic.php?t=13371

SDFD TSchott,

That is so great, you are also very close to the end!
I also haven't thought of my first meal yet, but I shall!

I'm not sure which retainer I'm getting yet, but the assistant did say although it varies case to case, most people get the essix at their clinic so I think I will get one as well. I am very anxious to know though, how long I will have to wear it 24/7, hope its in weeks not years!
Checked out your story and wow your teeth do look great!

I will keep you guys posted. 2 more days...

My ortho did pretty much polish the entire front of each tooth, but I also took myself off for a routine cleaning a couple of weeks after debanding anyway.
Yeah I'm already set to do the exact same thing, I get braces off April 2nd and cleaning is set April 10th :)

Meryaten, thanks! I guess advil it is, since my teeth tend to be sometimes a little sensitive to cold and heat anyway. I will mention teeth I want shaped, I'm just really hoping they won't over-do it. And a cleaning sounds like a good plan since I haven't done one in like 3 years! I will schedule it as soon as I get everythign removed.

ilovemacs, I was just thinking that too! When is your d-day?

Thanks for asking SinOnYourLips but I still have a long while to go. I don't mind because I love picking out colours! I've had my top braces on for 5 months and 1 day, and my bottoms on for 1 month, 2 weeks and 4 days. My estimated treatment time is 10-14 months. But I still have quite far to go. :)

ilovemacs, your ETT is just like mine. He told me about a year, and it will be exactly 12 months when they come off. Don't worry time does fly, and a year is really not bad in comparison to some other people on this board who have had their braces for 2,3,4 and even 5 years! I consider us to be pretty lucky, so good luck and keep us posted =]
