How long did it take to notice changes

As a newbie to this whole braces thing (I have only had mine on for 1 week) I am wondering how long after the braces went on did you start to notice some changes occuring. Is it realistic to expect some positive changes within the first month of being braced? I think at this stage I only have a thin damon wire on which is only to start a little bit of movement excuse the ignorance I am not sure exactly what it is called. Thanks in advance.

YES! It is quite realistic to expect changes in the first month. Not that everyone will SEE these changes, but you will feel them in your bite or when you're flossing.
Mostly take a picture now and then take another in a week and compare changes in the WIRE, not the teeth. Your first wire is a light and flexible, NiTi wire, it has a memory and wants to return to it's curved shape so will gently start guiding your teeth. Damon is your bracket type.
I saw huge changes in the first 8 weeks, but I had loads of crowding (as you can see below).

I saw changes on day 4 after being braced. My front bottom tooth was taller than the others...it always bothered the heck out of me. I figured I'd have to get it shaved down once I was out of braces. Now it's even with all my other bottom teeth. I can't stop looking at it in the mirror and I'm constantly running my tongue over it...
I've only been in braces for 8 days so that's the only change I've noticed. I was told that next month they will start closing the gaps...can't wait!

I definitely saw changes within the first month. When I got my braces put on, my first two teeth were overlapping... now there's actually a tiny space between them (that will be fixed, but that's how much things are moving) My ortho said to expect big changes this month as well, and it's only the 2nd month, so I'm pretty excited.

I noticed changes EASILY within the first week. My adjustments are far apart (10 weeks) and I notice changes almost constantly. Any big change usually results in my speech changing, some drooling, and or pain lasting for a few days -- then it settles right back down.
I have had 2 adjustments and have gone in a couple of times for checkups/ emergency appointments. I am being seen tomorrow because my bite has shifted so much I could barely eat this past weekend and tomorrow was their first available!

Hello Little Miss Unsure & welcome to AW!
Let me begin by saying that it is definitely possible to see changes within the first few days, weeks ans the first month. I've been braced for only a month bur I saw changes in the first 2 weeks. I had crowding and had 4 pre molars removed and now my teeth are moving back abd I can see gaps. Like someone mentioned take pictures and u will see a difference. hope this helps!

I saw movement after like 4 or 5 days. My upper right lateral incisor moved forward a bit and my lower right central incisor rotated a bit so now it stops me from biting down all the way. Then just this past couple of days my 1st molars (thats as far back as my braces go for now) started shifting cuz now they touch. *shrug* I was told that almost every day my bite would be a little different so I'm just learning to deal with it.
Oh and today I actually ate a little soft Jr Bacon Cheeseburger from Jack in the Box with a knife and fork! IT DOES GET BETTER!!!

I had movement within the first couple of days. I had to get my upper wires clipped 4 days after I was braced. I really started to notice changes within the first 2-3 weeks of being braced.
