Hi all,

This ia a brilliant forum and I have been following many of your blogs etc with fascination. Anyway I will introduce myself...

3 weeks ago -I have been through the separators/spacers stage and it wasn't too bad apart from it felt like there was something stuck between the teeth all of the time. Chewing was tough to begin with but I got used to it as the days rolled.
1 week ago - I have had the metal bands cemented onto my back molars and have got used to them as well. For the first couple of days I was waxing like mad but now the cheeks seem to have gotten used to them....for the time being anyway! Food was a problem to start with but have bitten the bullet and chew as best as I can.(accepting the sore cheeks as part & parcel of the process)
Today - I have just had two teeth extracted and everything was super. No pain whatsoever although I did get a bit of an adrenal dump afterwards because I had worked myself up into a frenzy. Oh and I didn't eat anything before the extractions which was rather daft as I am starving now!

And....... next Tuesday 24th I will be getting wired up...

Thanks to everyone for all of the hints, tips etc that I have read throughout this board.

Hi all,

Nikki - I had one pre molar - bottom
and 1 molar - top

Both on the same side and at the moment I am ever so cautious when brushing, flossing, eating and drinking as I don't want to knock the clots.

Hot drinks, drinking through straws, eating hard foods are out for at least a couple of days.

The extractions are really nothing to worry about as the anesthetic was enough to stop any pain. Also the injections are not as harsh as I had expected and my dentist did a fab job of jabbing me so it didn't hurt!

I just keep thinking of the end result to get me through the process and thats all I would advise to anyone else.

Now I am wondering whether to have colourful or plain ligs when my wires are attached..

Thanks for the reassurance about the extractions :D And I think you will soon find that everyone here is all for fun colored ligs!
