I got braces on the 19th. During consultation the ortho said the treatment would last for 24 months. Does it really take that long? I am kind of getting impatient already, thinking of the fact that I have to live with braces for another 2 yrs!!!

Another question: 10 days with braces & my teeth has already lost color. I wonder how will it look after 2 yrs. Should I ask my ortho/dentist about teeth whitening? If so, can someone give me a rough idea how much the teeth whitening procedure would cost?

I think a standard sentencing time, from what I've read on here, is 18-24 months. Some people are less, others like me have longer (I've got 3yrs)
Teeth apparently move only 1mm per month so you need all the time for your teeth to get into the correct position.

You've just started your treatment and I bet give it another week or so and you'll be past the oh dear I've got so long to go stage. You just don't notice them so much any more.
