Ok so I got my braces on like 4 months ago when my (at that time ortho) said he would expand my palette to accommodate the teeth so that removal was not necessary.
Fast forward like to this past week - I go in for a tightening and there is a new ortho - apparently the older guy I was used to took a position closer to home /???@?#@?# go figure.
Anyways this guy says I need to have 4 teeth removed all pre-molars. I am concerned in that my upper jaw has had the palette expander and it looks like the teeth are straight. Its the lower jaw that has the issue of crowding and I agree with him that an extraction on the lower jaw will work but what baout the top??
The top has just enough room for all my teeth - if he removes two of them wont i have massive gaps between my teeth due to the expanded palette
If he removes the two from the bottom my teeth with have enough room to become straight.
Possible to get only 2 teeth from the bottom removed? Or will the gaps on the top close and will my palette go back to the size it was before??
I will be going in to talk to this guy before anything happens but thats like in a weeks time and Just wanted to know what you gals/guys thought about it here. Btw - I searched this topic on here and have read quite a bit of the stuff but never found something similar to my predicament.
