Hello everyone,
Great forum, thanks for maintaining!
Here is my story.....
I have retained a baby tooth and have a overbite. It did not bother me that much. But now, cavity has formed around the baby tooth & needs to be extracted. So I was referred to ortho to determine the treatment plan to close space & correct my bite.
After consulting 4 orthos, and thinking through for 1 year, I finally decided to get braces. The treatment would be to extract baby tooth & one other permanent tooth (1st premolar/bicuspid) & close space & correct bite over a period of 20-24 months.

I have been braced for 5 weeks now. I had 2 teeth extracted last week, 1st premolar(or 1st bicuspid or tooth #12) and a retained baby tooth (tooth #C). I feel so much of void inside my mouth See pics below









Please share your thoughts. Anyone else with similar size of empty space to close? Please comment on pics I will pics as I progress.

I had the same exact two teeth extracted on July 18th. I'm scheduled to go to my ortho next week for an adjustment and I suspect the ortho wil use power chains to start to close the gaps.

Oops, nope. Mine were the 2nd bicuspids (#5 & #12) but the gaps are still about the same as yours.

Just curious, but what is keeping you from biting off your bottom brackets?

I do bite ... but careful enough not to break them.

YRhino, teeth that I had extracted were #12, #C. When did you get braced? Our story lines/journey seems similar??
