well my retainer check today was not as good as i had hoped, seems as if a bit of shifting is happening, so my orthodontist has still got me in the positioner, an he sent my retainers back to the lab for some extra hooks , he wants to try this to see if the retainer adjustments well stop the shifting , i'll get them back next week sometime , he wants this to work as bad as i do , other wise the only thing else he said he can do is to rebrace the uppers , i told him if this is what has to be done i would , so i'll get the retainers back an wear them till jan , this would be one year braces free , he has left it up to me , this would be no charge for the treatment , but CRAP three times in BRACES come on

OUCH! hope all works out and you get to stay brace free...

the question is why , everything that is under a bonded retainer is fine , it's the teeth after that are drifting , he thinks that the wisdom teeth played a large part in it, an there gone now , i just pray an hope this works, it's not like braces agian are the end of the world but i'm 50 years ole , an i realy would like to stay bracesfree , but when it comes down to nuts an bolts of it , i'll be rebraced to keep from tmj probs an a bad bite agian

Man oh man, I hope the new retainer works. After living in headgear for five years, you DESERVE a good result without jumping through any more hoops.

I also understand that after the commitment you've made, being braced again would be better than have either TMJ or bite issues surface.

May I ask how the back teeth had drifted? Did you have any back teeth moved forward or backward and now they are drifting back to their original position? Did you ask if you have to be rebraced, can they just do the back teeth or you have to be braced the entire arch?

i was told in SOME adult case's useing an expander wich i had , an useing headgear wich i had , sometimes are case's for shifting , wich i'm getting , now the front teeth that have the bonded retainers are fine , it's the teeth with no bonded retainers on them that have opened up a bit, an shifted the upper arch at this time is the only prob
