In 2000 they came out with brackets that are different shapes like hearts, footballs, diamonds, stars, circles & flowers.
I wish i would have known!
The website I went on said they are used in every orthodontic place, you just have to ask for them to order it.

I like the Flower or Heart shaped ones. When I went in for the first consult my ortho had that booklet with the sample designs. I never discussed the heart shaped brackets with him so I don't know how much they would have cost. He also had Gold,Metal or Clear brackets. All those were the same price. I dont know why ortho's charge more for clear brackets if they cost exactly the same as the metal or gold brackets. That is what my ortho told me,that he pays the same for gold, metal or clear brackets and many orthodontist just charge more for clear...
I chose the gold brackets because they were something different. I have seen a few people with gold brackets and I always ask where they got it from and they always mention my ortho!

I would be more impressed with that ad if some of those kids actually had crooked teeth. Even a little crooked!

Pretty cool idea though!

You never see ads for braces that have people with crooked teeth. The In-Ovation C person does have some spaces, but for the most part straight. Not sure why they always use people with perfect teeth for the ads.

I guess that even though braces are for crooked teeth,an advertisement for braces with people with crooked teeth is not a pretty site.
Imagine seeing an ad with this picture? I know this is the reality but people hate the truth sometimes and prefer not to shown the truth. Not even 1 single advertisement talks about the possible great discomfort, possible surgeries that may be required if your initial treatment does not work...

People can stomach this picture more than the one above...at least I could and these are pics of my own teeth!

The true reason is (I THINK) is they (Dental Supply Folks) are afraid to show teeth that aren't straight due to it not reflecting well on the product. It doesn't give you confidence on the product. It is more appealing for advertising purposes.

NYG2007 "reflecting well on the product. It doesn't give you confidence on the product. It is more appealing for advertising purposes"

You took the words out of my mouth ! Ijust couldnt get the right words lol

I guess everyone already knows that braces are used to correct crooked teeth and really dont need to see a picture of that in the advertisement.

Just how they show the "after" photos of a Tummy Tuck. Everyone thinks WOW that looks amazing but the truth is they hardly every show the recovery process of a tummy tuck. It's one of the most painful plastic surgery procedures and one of the longest to fully recover from. I know a mom that had one and she said she would NEVER would have done the tummy tuck if she knew that she would be hunched over for 5 weeks because the skin was pulled so tight that you can't stretch yourself up, tubes sticking out of her wound to drain blood etc...

I didn't see any braces on the lower teeth either.....kind of makes the cute brackets 'cuter' when the whole mouth isn't full of metal.

Incognito (Europe version of Ibraces) uses real patients during treatment on their leaflet and they don't all have perfect teeth. I mean they are not the worst teeth I have ever seen, but some cosmetically worse than my teeth were say 2 months in - day one mine were horrid - can't imagine they would inspire anyone - you could just think my teeth are no where near as bad as that maybe braces are just for the worse cases!LOL! That said the patient on the Incognito poster is a geniune patient, but definetly towards the end of treatment!

My ortho has pictures of a real patient with lingual uppers and lower ceramics on their leaflet on linguals which I liked again not absolutely perfect, although I did notice fresh clear ligatures and no elastic bands etc! But still honest enough for you to gauge how the combination will look after a couple of months of straightening in my case!

They're cute shapes anyway, though! NOW, what if they had cute shapes that were also gold, like Gennel's? How awesome would that be?
