Got my braces off

#1 Post by Marguerite »

I got my braces on February 2005 and I just got them off today!! So 3 years and 9 months in braces... whoa!!
The brackets snapped off pretty easy, although the ones on my incisors hurt. Also, I hate when they scrub the glue off you with that shrieking metal tool! My teeth are really sensitive to that and it smells awful. But, it is over now.
Right now they are making my retainer. I was going to pick it up tomorrow morning, but I think they sensed that I was nervous my teeth would somehow move overnight and put me back at square one. So, I'm getting it this afternoon.
My initial reaction to my teeth is that they look weird and I don't particularly like them! But I'm so used to having braces that anything would look weird to me right now. I still have a few spaces that I might get bonding for.
Yes, it's finally over!!

Yay well done. I was still at Uni in Feb 2005 nearly 4 years is a long time!

I am sure you are so used to your braces that it is a shock to get them off.

Enjoy your retainer. I am just starting on my braces journey aged 24
