Sore gums! Help?!

#1 Post by angel0505 »

Since my last adjustment a week ago, one particular area on my gum line has really been bothering me. It started out very small, barely noticed it. But now it's throbbing and I can't seem to figure out why.'

This area doesn't looked inflamed or any different from the rest of my gums.

I don't have a regular dentist and my orthodontist will not answer questions about general dentistry (they made this very clear at my 1st visit).

I'll be seeing a dentist in another month, but I'd like to do something to ease the pain now.

Any tips or suggestions? Please help

When I was without coverage, my dentist (when I could afford to pay for a cleaning out of pocket) was willing to see me for free after I had fractured a chunk off of one of my teeth. If you think you might have some sort of infection, you could call the office and see if you can schedule an emergency appointment. Certainly, it couldn't hurt to give them a call, even if they do say no. Of course, they will make you pay for any subsequent treatment, but at least you'll know what's wrong.
