braces on only 6 or 8 teeth?

I've had braces before, but my top teeth aren't holding so I have to get them back on again Monday.

My ortho told me I'm only going to have to get them on the front 6 or 8 teeth? How does that work, because I thought I needed the molar bands to hold them.

I don't have molar bands so they must not be a requirement in all cases.

I hope your teeth are back in line quickly and that they stay put this time.

I only have the bands on the bottom, they can use cemented anchor brackets now! I was so happy, top molar bands were THE worse the first time I had braces!

I had a friend who only had brackets on her two front teeth (to close the gap I guess). I have no idea how that worked though, and I never asked, but I guess it's possible?

Hi

I was told that if I was going to have fixed braces they would only be on the top front six. I only needed two of the front teeth straightening. Sorry, I don't know how this would have worked, but thought I'd just mention that my ortho was going to do this too.

Btw, I didn't opt for fixed braces in the end.
