It is recommended that you do not eat nuts of any sort, but I will admit that I eat them anyway. Be advised it's a pain to clean it out though.

man i just ate some fruit that comes in a cup and even that hurt

wtf? it doesnt hurt till i chew rofl

allllll the food i bought i prob wont be able to eat any of it

like 70% rice

some macaroni and cheese

noodles

at least i can eat those i think

im still thinking about if these braces r gona work

it looks like these teeth have no room to move back as far as crowding goes

there all just bracketed together with no space in between

Hi!

Please don't use "IM" abbreviations on the message board. It is much better for everyone if you properly spell things out.

Thanks for understanding!

I still eat nuts too! But they do get stuck a lot in your braces/teeth and they're harder than most things to get out, so I can see why we're told not to eat them!

im not sure if i can eat potatoe bread either if any one has ever had that. It always got stuck to my teeth like crazy before braces...with braces i dont want them to get stuck and break my wire

im not sure what they mean by "sticky"'
like caramel? or ANYTHING that sticks

because that bread sticks to me like glue and i just bought a bunch of soft foods thinking i can eat them but i am double thinking it now

I was told by my ortho the no no list is mainly for kids and that since I am an adult that I could eat whatever, but just be careful! I have had my braces for 2 years now, and I have slightly modified my diet, otherwise I eat anything I feel. I am careful on some items like chips and items with nuts. But like said before, are they a pain to get out once they get stuck!!

I've been told not to eat but I still do, and popcorn, you just have to be a little bit more careful than usual

Peanuts

I eat just about anything, but I'm just real careful about the ones they warned you about. I usually chew the tricky foods like nuts and popcorn on my back teeth. I haven't had any problems for the first 4 months I've had my braces until a few days ago a wire came off or broke. I was brushing my teeth with a firmer toothbrush than usual. I say if you're an adult, it's ok to eat nuts, popcorn and stuff, just be REAL CAREFUL!

And if your teeth are sore, hold off for a few days on nuts, chips, anything that's really hard, because it's not worth being in more pain! Try to chew something soft - bread should be okay, as long as the crust isn't too tough - just make sure you get it all out of your braces when you're done.

My best friend after adjustments is apple sauce, and any kind of soup I can get my hands on. Also, it's an excuse to eat lots of ice cream, though the kind on a stick would be tricky to bite into if your front teeth are sore.

As far as not being sure if your braces will work because of crowding, it'll take time, but your ortho knows what to do! Don't get fristrated and decide to get de-braced yet! :)

I eat everything on the "bad food" list, but carefully. Caramels and stuff I suck on, popcorn I'm just careful not to bite on unpopped kernels, etc.
