I have my first appointment with the ortodontist next month.
I have an overbite of about 8-10mm between top and bottom teeth.
I am on job seekers allowance.
I am over 18 as well.
I have been reading that you have to pay if your over 18, is this true?

Hi. You cannot get braces for free on the NHS with JSA like you can with glasses and general dental tratment.

You HAVE to go private, and pay full price - which, for me ends up being about £2500.

Unless you've got money saved up there's no way you can afford it on JSA.

I got interest-free monthly repayments of £133 per month over 18 months. JSA is £192 per month (for under 25s)

Just to add it may be POSSIBLE to get them free on the NHS but this is only in extreme cases.
