Elastics and Fluoride Mouthwash

#1 Post by sdawdy »

I know with the fluoride mouthwash that I use, it says not to eat or drink for 30 minutes after rinsing. What is your opinion on putting elastics in right after I do the rinse? Will it decrease the effect where the elastic is? Ok, I know this is probably a question for my dentist or ortho..but wanted to get opinions

Thanks, SD

To eat or to drink will be to wash off the fluoride so it doesn't work any more to protect teeth. To put in elastics will not wash it off. Not enough mouthwash stays to hurt elastics. It is okay.
