FYI - Glow-in-the-dark ligatures DO STAIN

After the first week being braced in "glow in the dark" ligs that were not suppose to stain, they did after a meal of Thai food. The meal was great, the ligs were yellow.
So far, after my first adjustment with "champaign" colored ligs, they are holding up well. Will keep you posted.

I have ceramics on top, and after a few months of watching the ligatures stain after a week, I asked whether they could use tie wires, rather than ligatures on the top. They accomodated my request (it takes longer to attach wires than the elastic ligatures, but they don't remove them at every visit unless they're changing an archwire). The wires do not stain.

My ceramics haven't stained either, thank goodness. After my first adjustment, I came home with an array of ligs to replace any when I want to. (I'm a silversmith & have the tools to change them myself.) So far, I haven't had to...1 week past 1st adjustment (which wasn't that bad). WeeHee!
