Been thinking of doing it for about 8 years now

Guess I should just do it. I've been thinking about getting braces for about 8-10 years now and my teeth are not getting any better....no surprise there. How many consults is typical before choosing a doctor? I went once about 2 years ago and liked the options, although I forget what they were! Guess I'd like to go with ceramic as they are not as obvious.

I recommend 2-3 consults, maybe more if there are widely differing opinions on the treatment plan. Or as many as it takes to find an ortho and office you trust and are comfortable with.

I had three scheduled but I only went to two. The second orthodontist felt right and I loved everything about that consultation. I am 99% sure the third one would have been exactly the same as the third so I opted to not go to it. Especially since that appointment wouldn't have been until next month...and by the time of that appointment I hope to be braced my the orthodontist I picked. I would recommend seeing three orthodontists since they usually give free initial consultations and you can get a feel for the different styles.
