SCARY dream!!!

#1 Post by Rachel B »

I had the worst dream last night.

I looked in the mirror and one of my lower incisors had twisted 90 degrees and then they all started wobbling and falling out. In my dream, I told my boyfriend and he said "don't worry, but don't go back to that orthodontist".

How weird, nearly as weird as the dream I had the night before about owning a parrot and having to play the violin at a job interview (I can't play the violin).

Hahaha it's just a dream. Since I got braces I only had one ba dream about them - I dreamt that my teeth were very very loose and my dentist told me they will fall out.

Ive had multiple dreams about really loose teeth, and teeth falling out, or cracking, it's because teeth are always on your mind.

That's so funny that you posted this. I was thinking about sharing a dream I had recently too. In it I was eating an apple (fully biting into it) and it tasted great. Then I realized that I wasn't supposed to be doing this because of the braces and all of a sudden some brackets popped off and my archwire wasn't putting pressure on my teeth. I remember thinking "damn this is going to increase my time in braces..." and I woke up.

Supposedly dreams of losing teeth can have many meanings. Here's a page with some interesting interpretations:

I've had several of those dreams as well. Teeth falling out, teeth twisting etc :) I also had them before getting braces. I guess it's just a sign that you think about your teeth and brace process, and perfectly normal

I've had dreams like that too.. one where my 4 front teeth fell out and were just hanging on the wire and I was trying to 'fix' them back in.. one where one of my front teeth moved back behind the other.. and another where a bracket came off and I was thinking 'when am I going to fine the time to go and get it fixed??' I am tooth obsessed at the moment so I guess that explains it..

Just before I got my braces in November I had a dream. I thought I was holding a pearl necklace in my hand but when I held the necklace out I realised it was a string of teeth on a wire!!

I have had recurring dreams about my teeth falling out my whole life, probably every couple of weeks, but weirdly since my braces were fitted in December I haven't had a single one!

Don't know why... I would have thought I'd dream about my teeth more with all the time I focus on them during the day.

here is something i found about teeth falling out dreams:

My Teeth Are Falling Out

Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumble in your hands, fall out one by one with just a light tap, grow crooked or rot. Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used SPAM SPAM SPAMMING of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Well that would make sense of why I used to dream about my teeth falling out all the time and now I don't... I used to feel paranoid about my appearance (partly 'coz of my wonky teeth!) and now I'm fixing my teeth I feel much more confident!

OMG I had another one last night.

I looked in the mirror and all my teeth were way crooked- more than they were before I first got my braces. Then I noticed most of the brackets had come off and the wire was hanging out.
Then my mouth was full of things and I spat out all these screws and bolts and cogs!!!!!

It's such a relief when you wake up and everything is normal!!
