Good luck tomorrow Kristi, are up for wearing colors on top with the ceramics? My one suggestion is that if you're a coffee drinker, see if your ortho is willing to do wire ties instead of ligs, it definitely keeps to out of the chair to get clear ligs changed regularly. As far as the bottom goes, have fun with it.

Kristi, GOOD LUCK!!! :) :) :)

My advice: stay away from pink...I mean the very pinky pink. I don't like it because it almost looks like the color of your gums and although it ISN'T your gums...to me, it makes you appear to have a 'gummier' smile. This is just my opinion and I'm weird, so maybe NO ONE ELSE will agree with this..LOL.

What I'd choose (and the ones that I love) are the light lavendar-y color. I think it looks so pretty! :) I love it the best on my ceramics, though...the metal...no matter what you do to it, it's still metal. LOL I'm just used to my ceramic, though, so I'm not fond of the metal. LOL

I haven't tried dark colors yet...so can't give you any thoughts on that, but I'd say you should probably stay away from red or black - don't want to look like your teeth are bleeding or missing, do ya? ;) Then again, maybe you do! :-P

Don't forget to share with us (esp. by showing us pics) what you went with. Good luck and don't forget to wear tons of chapstick, so your lips don't dry out with the lip stretchers, and also take some OTC painkillers (your choice) before going in. :)

I didn't get colors till i got my power chains put on but I'm having fun with the colors now. right now I have radical red ones on the bottom. the powerchain is almost on all of the bottom teeth. I wasn't sure which color I should get on first but then the ortho asked what my fav color is and we went from there. I'm thinking at my next apt (may 7th) I'll try glow in the dark or something nifty like that. Who knows though we shall see.

All a matter of taste I suppose :D . Raspberry pink has been my favorite so far for the bottom arch. It seems to make the brackets blend in with my lips better then anything else I have tried.
For my uppers I have not been very brave color wise. I've done silver and smoke, both of which are very nice. I also picked white once, it was a mistake. It made my clear social six brackets look huge.

Even though I have not been very adventurous I have seen pretty much every color in use. My daughters tried many during their 2 years of braces. They wore everything from pastel to glow in the dark brights. Of all the colors I think the aqua and lavender were my favorites. They looked clean and fresh on their metal brackets.

There are lots of colors to pick from and endless combinations to play with. The lig color thread has lots of inspiration if you have the time, check it out. :D

Hi Kristi,

I have ceramic on the top and bottom. My ligs are the clear/white. If you are not a coffee or tea drinker, or do not smoke, these will suit you fine. Some people do complain that the ligs discolor after some time, but mine still look good as new. You just have to be conscious of what you drink. Anything that is known to stain teeth will stain your ligs. By the way, I am 34!

Hope this helps!

I totally agree with you that it's a matter of personal preference, but I should've clarified a little bit. I really meant to put the pink on top...on the ceramics. I never liked it on me, and I never liked it in pics, but on the bottom brackets (which are metal), I really did like it...but also because those aren't as noticeable.

I am SOOO going to try aqua next time!! Thank you for suggesting it!! Now I'm really excited!! (I just went for yet ANOTHER emergency appointment and got my lavendar swapped out for clear because I'm having my engagement photo session soon, and I'd like the braces to 'disappear' if possible. ;) )

How did everything go Kristi!?!?!
