feeling your teeth move, especially at night

#1 Post by mullersl »

I've had my braces on for2 months and 5 days, just had my second adjustment today and had my wires changed!! Feeling very tender!! At night when I'm sleeping I wake up feeling a lot of pain in my teeth especially if I'm laying on my side!! I swear if it weren't for my braces my teeth would fall out. Anyone else with the same sensation? (It doesn't happen every night but frequently enough) :?

At the start of my treatment I had horrible pain, sorenes and tenderness straight for two weeks and even after that sometimes soreness occasionally. More so the few days before and after an adjustment for me. Teeth will be sore or tender every so often. More often as your treatment gets longer you won't have as many sore days. Just hang in there it will get better and its worth it.

Yes, I find that me teeth hurt the most at night. Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night because they are so achy! My second adjustment was today. I had my bottom braces put on and a stronger wire on top and I'm feeling it right now!!!

I am so glad you posted this- I thought it was all in my head! I have had my braces on for 3 weeks and I have noticed some tooth movement- space that didn't used to be there before! Which is great because this shows me that something is happening! But, I also feel like my teeth shift while I eat or floss and worry this is causing the little movement I've had to go back to its original bad location. I can't say that it is painful for me, but at night my teeth are very tender- like they feel loose and heavy and on the verge of falling out. Not sure if that makes any sense. Maybe it is that way during the day, I'm just too busy to notice......

ya its funny you should say this, i also find i have the most pain closer to night time (whats up whith that ah, its like our teeth know that we want to sleep so they decide to start moving and crusing) oh but this is good because it means were all progressing in terms of our teeth moving:) My teeth tend to get sore for a few days after an adjustment but then they are better. Sometimes they get sore becauses there rubbing up against something so ijust make sure i wax my teeth really well. I had an adjustment today as well: got really really thick and stiffer wires on in preperation for surgery in less then a month and 4 surgical ties down so the wires dont fall off and I'm definetly feeling the pain!!
