So that you may avoid this newbie's mistake. . .

Ok, I'm still only at the spacers and molar band stage (no brackets and wires yet) but I wanted to share this information so that you can avoid making this mistake.
While it is a GOOD idea to dry off the area where you want to place some wax, a washcloth with looped threads is NOT the best item to use for this purpose. It just might get one of those little looped threads caught on your bracket or molar band. And then, if that happens, you just might resort to asking your 9-year-old to try to untangle it. Once she grabs the cloth and yanks and you finally come down off the ceiling, you may then feel desperate enough to call your spouse. He may then proceed to laugh hysterically while picking up a very sharp pointy pair of scissors and approaching your very tender mouth. You may then just close your eyes and hope that his spasms of laughter calm down enough so that the scissors don't slip and cut your lip/gum/tongue.
I hope you find this message helpful (or at least humorous).
