Hi everyone! I've been lurking around these boards for months now. Finally, today at age 23 I am getting braced. I'm terrified and excited all at the same time!

I've been so thankful for this website. It has eased many of my concerns and I look forward to being a part of this site!

Happy June!

Laura

Thanks for the nice messages!!

And yes, Jaylo! That would be great!! Good luck today! What kind of braces are you getting? I don't know about you, but I'm at work and can't stop thinking about it. I'm waiting for a call from the IT guy telling me to stop reading about braces and get back to work! haha

Keep me updated!

Lol thats hilarious cuz Im exactly the same way!!! Haha. I keep checking on here and looking up info. Im getting all metal top and bottom. I was going to get ceramic on top but my ortho prefers metal due to durability and stuff. So I went with that.
My appt is in an hour and a half!!! How about yours?

That's so cool!!! We are definitely both creeping around these boards- hence our quick response times! :)

I'm getting all metal too! I'm only getting my upper brackets on today though. Then an expander in two weeks, and my lower brackets in 6 months.

Mine are going to be Damon 3mx's. Are yours the same or the conventional kind? I really wanted just Damon3's, but apparently my ortho doesn't dig them and says I need too much movement. It'll be okay though! I think with all metal whether conventional or Damon there isn't too much difference. One sticks out more, and one takes up a bit more of the tooth's surface.

I forgot to answer one of your questions earlier- my orthodontist said it will be a 2 year committment (or sentence as people say here:) ) How about you?

My appointment is at 4pm. You are getting braced so soon! I hope it goes well!!!

Yea Laura the next hour cant pass fast enough.
Im really getting antsy and nervous. Lol. I feel like a little kid!
Thats cool. Mine should be roughly around 12 months so thats not too bad. My main problem is some gaps. I'll be posting pics later so you can see. Hopefully the next year will go by without any complications :)
Im honestly not 100% sure what kind of brackets they are. They are not the self ligating ones though. I guess I'll know more shortly.
AHHHH I cant believe its almost time!

Thank you!!!!! It went well. I think I have spent enough time on this website that it was pretty much exactly what I expected! So far it's okay! Thanks again for thinking of us!
