Some teeth longer than others

#1 Post by Zephyr »

Hi everyone, I know this question has probably come up before but I sort of need to vent too so apologies in advance! I've had my braces for 3 months now and I'm due my next adjustment on Tuesday where I will bring this up with my ortho but for now...

So in the beginning I had a lot of overcrowding, and for the past 2 months have been wearing metal coils on my top archwire to create spaces for my lateral incisors to move into and it's working a treat, I have really ugly gaps everywhere but I know that there's enough space there for my previously crowded teeth to move into. That's great, not really the problem! However, I also have an open bite and I've noticed that my teeth on the upper right hand side of my mouth, like from my right front tooth over are moving down, like they're lower than the left hand side of my mouth and I'm starting to get self concious about it.

With all these gaps, and masses of wire and coils, and little elastic strings tying some brackets to the wire, my mouth looks like a freak show! My teeth look worse than when they were overcrowded and the amount of junk I have in my mouth just emphasises that! I know that it probably gets worse before it gets better but c'mon already!!!!

Sorry for venting. one questino though, how are my teeth moving down, when there's no elastics pulling them down, I mean how can the archwire lower some teeth?!
