pain -- but in between adjustments?

#1 Post by colorpurple »

so i am 6 weeks into getting my bottom braces, and today i feel really tender around certain teeth. is this normal?? i thought this pain left after the first few days. do you get random bouts of tenderness in between adjustments that come and go?

I was actually happy for my teeth to be sore between adjustments because it meant that the braces were doing what they were supposed to!

I get sore between visits too. I have the initial soreness for a couple of days, that fades, then sometimes after about 2 weeks, certain spots start hurting again. I haven't narrowed it down, but it may be because I ate something too hard, or some food got into somewhere and I didn't get it out good enough, or maybe stuff is moving around and it just gets a little tender, or maybe something I don't even know about.

Are you a mouth breather?
I have a theory that the mouth breathing may cause some extra pains here and there, but I don't really know.
