Hi! I just had my first adjustment yesterday and have 2 questions:
1) What are square wires? I think I will be getting those when I go in next.
2) I used to have this powerchain?? type thing connecting the tooth in front of an extraction hole to the tooth behind the hole. I thought perhaps this was supposed to help close the gap but I could be totally wrong! They removed it during my adjustment and now there is nothing on the wire by the gap. Is this normal? Did they forget to put it back on?

normal. im 5 months in and i have 3 extraction gaps..i just have a wire through them.. my ortho hasnt started closing the gaps yet

I didn't start closing gaps until about 5 months in. I am still on my first set of wire, and I'm seven months in :3 I think my ortho is going to close my gaps all the way before putting in a thicker wire to straighten out my teeth the rest of thew ay and rotate a few teeth.
