The dentist or ortho never told me but it is possible for them to miss it right?

An orthodonist wouldn't miss that you have an overbite.

They wouldn't miss a problem that it's their job to treat. However, it might be a case that you just have a slight overbite that doesn't really require treatment (so therefore your dentist or ortho didn't bring it up), in which case you could look into a cosmetic fix if it troubles you

You can check your overbite yourself. Normal overbite is 2-3mm both horizontally and vertically. Anything over 3mm would usually be considered an excess overbite.
