Getting my braces off soon but have a few questions....*PICS

#1 Post by Raven78 »

I am going to get my braces off in Feb. Was suppose to have them off at the end of Sept. but couldnt come up with $2200 to have them removed and retainers.....anyway...

I have a few questions....

1. Do you think I should be happy with the way my teeth are?

2. I have a small gap between the top and bottom teeth (ones right next to the front teeth) but the Dr says there is nothing else he can do for them....Just did rubber bands. Is there any way to close them?

3. My back molar on both sides are tilted to the inside of my mouth. I can feel half of the top of my tooth. I am biting down on my tooth where the top and side of my tooth meet. I have brought this up to him several times in the past. Is this how teeth are when they are done? I wouldnt think so.

Here are my pics the day before my braces and now 20 months later.

The begining....

the shape of your lateral incisors (the ones next to the front teeth) is very 'slanted' at the edge closest to the midline. I think some bonding to 'square' the edge would go a long way in your case.

I am not 100% sure what you are describing about the molars

I agree with drrrick about that lateral.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean about your molars, but the cheek side of your lower molars should be in the middle of the cusps of your top molars when you bite and the tongue side of your lower molars is further in towards the tongue than the top. If the tongue is on the left, the teeth would be kind of like this:

I'm no expert but it seems your teeth are positioned that way because its the best way for the teeth to close together.
