5 days left!

#1 Post by tyeomans »

I only have 5 days left until the day I am debraced. I have a tiny gap between teeth number 10 and 11. (That is the top left canine and incisor.) Will my braces still come off with this tiny gap? If I go see my ortho on Friday, can he do something to have it closed before Monday? I have had a powerchain on for 6 weeks, and it didn't close it at all. What does this mean?

When did your ortho see you for the last time? He is probably aware of the gap but maybe he hoped that it would close until now. I think you should call him, he may be in a position to put on a closing loop that can work miracles within 2 days or he may just accepted the fact that this gap will stay (from what I read in this forum, it is not uncommon at all). Of course I 'm guessing the possibility of having to move your d-day a bit ahead still exists but it probably would not be long, one week maybe? Anyway, my opinion is to call him and ask to speak directly to him and not one of his assistants and see what he says. Good luck and a happy debracing :)!

I know for myself I have a couple of concerns before debracing. I have an appointment in one week to talk through and discuss possibilities. I think you should call your orthos office and ask about the space before your appointment. If the assistant is too gun ho your braces may be off before its ever discussed. I think most orthos would be reluctant to discuss the problem at that time.

I wore braces (this time) for 1294 days or 3 years, 6 months and 17 days.
