sub for wax??

for some reason my ortho failed to provide me with wax...what else can i use?? my cheek hurts. :?

You can buy orthodontic wax in almost any drug store.

I got my wax at Wal-Mart by the toothbrushes :D

Unfortunately, unlike the US wax isn't available freely in the supermarket, pharmacy etc. I know that in regional Australia, it is impossible to get other than to order it online or ring up your ortho and ask them to send you some. In the short term to ease the pain, I suggest you apply teething gel and use a cottom wool square to stop the ripping. Good luck!

Do you know for certain that your ortho does not provide it at all? Maybe their policy is to give it only if asked. I'd start with a phone call to the ortho office.

If it's in the back of your mouth you can try a piece of cotton (from a cotton ball). I do this all the time and it works well.
