new damon treatment : 24 months cut to 8 / 12 months

I do have confidence in the ortho I'm considering how have a tiny nagging doubt regarding how much quicker he reckons he can sort my teeth than the other orthos I've consulted. I have deep bite - hardly an easy case, 2 other orthos have quoted 24 months in metal damons.

This ortho has quoted 8 - 12 months in damon clears on uppers / metal on lowers. I did ask him why he was able to quote such a short treatment time and he said that using new protocols with light elastic, disarticulation and the correct torque on the Damon brackets treatment time could be reduced.

Very grateful for any opinions..i don't want to reject the idea of quick treatment simply because its sounds to good to be true..because I've seen so many cases of people rejecting chances in life and work on these grounds...but would welcome opinions...are light elastics usually used with damons or not at all...if any orthos on the forum could comment on what disarticulation means within the context of damons that would also be great.

i think most people here would agree that a lot of the hype surrounding damons is just that...hype

i think the damon website itself only claims an average of about 4-6 month reduction in treatment, where yours is claiming a year less or more

with that said...id get a couple more consultations, sort of find the middle ground that the orthos agree on, and then pick one that falls in that middle ground. I would be skeptical about going with the one that that deviates from all the rest
