Switching to clear brackets

At my last appt. My ortho said he is very satisfied with the movement of the teeth backward--and he needs to rebond some of the front brackets. He initially said the amt of torque he needed was so great clear brackets would not be strong enough. But this week, he said "if I am rebonding brackets, would you like to switch to clear" Hell yes, is my response!! So, in a couple weeks, he is going to rebond my front 8 to clear!!! I may get to see my teeth for a minute or 2 without brackets---exciting!!

I am going to try to post some photos of the progress, it is fantastic--I am so happy!! And almost ready for BSSO!!

Great progress so far! How do you keep your powerchain so white? Makes me envious!

thanks for the support guys!! My husband is sick of me making him look at my teeth!!

yj207--that is a "silver" powerchain, which actually looks smoke or almost clear--it hardly stains at all!! It was also just changed 3 days ago, that's why it looks so good, but I changed one that had been on for 4 weeks, and it was discolored when she took it off, but still looked ok on my teeth--you should try it!

OMG - Christine, you just made my day! I'm getting braced in 5 days and have a similar overjet as you, though mine isn't quite as prominent. Your progress in just 10 months is amazing, and your teeth look FANTASTIC now!! Thank you so much for sharing those pics with us. :)

I'm also getting clears on the top. Enjoy yours!!

thanks so much!! I am pretty excited about the progress! I still have a ways to go--gaps are closing, upper arch is improving, I think there is no way around the lower jaw advancement :( I had always hoped my progress would be enough that I wouldn't need it, but the OD is afraid I may relapse without it :( But If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right, and not relapse! :D

I have a silly question... did your lower jaw move forward, or it it just that your upper teeth moved back? I can't figure it out, but I'd like to know because of my situation. I can't for the life of me figure out what I'll look like without these teeth sticking out in the front... I'm so used to them! haha I put pics in my story in the other thread "Braces Stories".

Thanks-
Cathy
