Hi all! I'm new to the forum. I was hoping you all might be able to provide me with some info on your experiences with braces, & maybe point me in the right direction.

I'm looking to get metal braces . I'm not too bothered about how they look, I'm confident enough in myself to be happy with a metal mouth! I'd be willing to travel far & wide for the best quality & value. A few things that might be important;
I only need (and want) them on my top teeth.
I'm 23.
The only issue to speak of is my right canine, which is a bit snaggletooth-ish!
I've already had my wisdom teeth removed.

Can anyone recommend an orthodontist they've been happy with, or have heard good things about, who is reasonably priced also? I can't afford a huge amount, but I really want to get this canine put back in his place!

Hmm if its just one tooth that needs fixing, have you thought about Invisalign? Invisalign Express even, that's not so expensive. Also, they do Invisalign consultations free of charge at most places, give it a try.

I actually went for an evaluation with Invisalign. The orthdontist said the tooth itself was pushed to far up for Invisalign to be effective. He said it's good for straightening teeth that are slighty to moderately out of line, but not so great for actually pulling a tooth into a new position.

Also, if money is an issue then it may be worth searching under NHS too as quite a few members here have had treatment under the NHS as adults.
