I'm worry
I had braces on for 2 weeks and I'm starting to see that some of the gum on my teeth are receding. Beside from that I'm worried that the orthodontist is expanding my arch too wide. My last two visit with him are very brief because he seems busy and I felt like i'm holding him back with questions. However I cannot stop worrying and so i wanted to make an appointment with him to discuss my concerns and options because I didn't want to making any unnecessary teeth movement and damage my teeth. However when I called in to schedule an appointment for questions the secretary refuses to make an appointment for me she said if I have any questions I will have to ask him during my next adjustment appointment. Is this normal?
You dont get that much movement in 2 weeks. Any recession, etc you are seeing was probably already there, you just never saw it since you were not looking at your teeth as closely as you are right now.
Same thing with expansion 2 weeks is not enough to get expansion.

Not normal at all. The clinic should always be available and orthodontist should be available for you to discuss concerns, supposing you had an emergency would they tell you to wait until next appointment? I assume you're paying a lot of money, like most of us, so make sure you get the service you deserve. My clinic said I can ring anytime, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I booked an appointment. However due to very busy clinics, which might be like your clinic, perhaps ask if you could talk to orthodontist over the phone to address your concerns if they can't book an appointment. Perphaps go to a general dentist too for advice on your gums.
I thought two weeks is quick also, but I know the recession was due to the expansion because one of the tooth I use to have a problem before I have always pay close attention to it even before the braces where on. I could see that the root has an indentation which was not there before I'm positively sure. This may be due to the reason that my arch was very wide to begin with and now it is being expanded wider so it's not very stable. I'm not questioning the dentist work I'm only wanting to see him to ask if he would recommend ipr in my case. If he agrees he would not have to expand more teeth in my next adjustment. I told her that I wanted to make an appointment because I have a few questions to ask the doctor and that I wanted to talk to him before my next appointment so that he could make any necessary changes to my adjustments. The secretary didn't let me finish my question and just told me that "we basically cannot make an appointment for you." I'm very worry and losing sleep because of it. what should I do to speak with the orthodontist?
