This morning I received a dreaded phone call telling me that my awesome orthodontist has left the practice due to family reasons (which understandably were not disclosed to me). I am 3 months into my treatment and this is a real bummer for me because I really got along with my ortho, he knew what he was doing, was highly recommended by others and was generally a nice guy hehe.
The assitant told me that I would now have to see another ortho for my first adjustment
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm sure it has....
What should I expect? do I have to go through everything again (i.e. what results I'm aiming for through treatment) with the new dude?
My ortho changes each visit, because there are three in the practice and whoever is in that office (they have three around the city) sees you that day. They standardize the plan so everybody knows what the other is doing and it seems to work out all right. You can probably call the office and ask them if your treatment plan is going to change at all, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. My orthos seemed to make quite a few notes in my chart to sort of direct my treatment from the start, and your probably left records like that too.
