Anyone have all 4 teeth pulled out but were unsatisfied with the results, and got the holes expanded again?
How much would 4 bicuspid implants and crowns cost?

You are looking at $5-6K per implant with crown, so around $20K+ for all four.

HOLY COW! You guys are freak'n me out. I have to get two canine implants, and even though i have insurance, i knew it would be expensive....but 10,000 for two teeth?! blah. thank goodness its still two years away.
Diesel---are you actually going to get your teeth replaced?

Not only does it cost a lot, but insurance won't pay any of it because implants are still viewed as a cosmetic procedure.

I want to talk to my orthodontist in two days and tell him that I want the gaps opened.
My face is at "mid-face collapse" I want my bone structure back. and for my tongue to have room again and for my neck, shoulders to stop slouching, which it never did before the extractions closed in.
A dental hygienist told me its about 3000 each for implant/crown/surgery the whole thing. depends on who you go to i suppose.

Lucky me, my insurance does cover them. Not the whole amount, but enough. And i live in a small town in New Mexico, so most stuff is cheaper here.

Diesel, I am sorry to hear your story, you must feel awfull!

I was curious to read this tread because I also had 1 upper premolar removed (only one because they pulled the other one when I was a kid instead of giving me braces, I guess that was the easy way, and I ended up with crooked teeth and a midline thats about 6mm off) and just like you I don't like how far my upper arch is 'pushed back'.

Doesn't everybody wants a full smile!?

The question crossed my mind a few times what it would take to open the spaces back up, but I guess there would be no room anyway, it should have been done while being a child. That's where I find comfort in now.

Anyway, I don't have any advice for you, I just hope you can find a way and live with it.

Did you get multiple consults? And if yes what did they say?

Post some before and now pics, I am curious!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Implant fees can vary dramatically by geographic area, extra services needed (sinus lift, grafting) etc.

In my town for a basin implant and crown the fee is around $4000 (2500 for implant placement and 1500 for the crown) but again that can vary greatly.

Also, do you think this would cost extra to undo? I am still in braces and my gaps are closed. Almost scared to ask.

Do you have any pics of your profile? I am curious how serious it looks from what you are talking about.

I don't really feel comfortable posting pics on here.
but i'll try to be descriptive.
On my orthodontist's computer there are pictures of my "before" face with the profile and face on shot My lower jaw in the profile shot is forward. and the lower part of my face is a bit more forward than my forehead.
Now the lower jaw is back as well as the upper teeth. If you can picture it, the lower half of my profile shot has regressed far back from the forehead. sorta like this line /. My neck comes forward as i try to lean my head back to bring the lower jaw out. Also, gone is my beautiful broad smile from before.
Anyhow i have decided i will be switching orthodontists.
My current one has totally ignored my concerns and suggested i just see a chiropractor. No use waiting it out with him.

I think I know what you mean. That is terrible your orthodontist is not listening to your needs, when I was surfing the net about vertical face thing I came across this ortho's name William M. Hang. There are some reviews on some websites about how he fixed their faces from bad orthos. Maybe he could refer you to someone that knows about your concerns? I just googled it, I cannot say if its propaganda or not but it could be a starting point to get some answers. Good luck!

Did it make sense to extract 4 teeth for this overjet/overbite?
