My Molar buildups are wearing down...
I got braces on July 8th and i also got Molar buildups for my Lateral incisors that need to be pushed out because they are both behind the central ones. My ortho says if i have to have buildups until they come out or they never will because they are stuck behind the bottom teeth and central incisors, thats why i have buildups... so I have been eating a liquid diet, for the first week but then ive changed to like bread and other harder foods for the last week. (Oh just a funny note, i was eating eggs one morning and i went to brush my teeth and i was ASTONISHED at how much egg chunks got stuck in my braces LOL gross much! Im so laying off eggs now... oh breads the same and n-a-s-t-y!) Anyways back to my issue, when i first got them on the buildups were really like large and when i bit down the gap was the size of half a penny O.O NOW 2 weeks later i bite down and my the central teeth basically touch my bottom central teeth (about the strand of hair of a gap) and it really hurts when it sometimes bumps the bottom teeth! My lateral incisors actually dont touch only the central ones though, but its really close. My buildups basically wore down a whole lot and its been 2 weeks and im 13 and im really worried because it was suposed to speed up my treatment time, but if they are worn down its no use for the teeth that need to come out! GRR soo confused! should i go back to the orthodontist so they can add more ?
May need to add some more material to increase the height.
I will often place them on the back of the upper centrals (or canines) either by themselves or in addition to the molars as they seem to wear less on the upper teeth.
If I am not trying to open a deep bite I will often wait to do this until the laterals have space to move to. So I would make space for them then place build ups and start moving the laterals forward.

Absolutely,
In fact that was what I was referring to in my post. I use then more for anterior crossbites tbhan posterior crossbites it seems.
